Zeitgeist in Maldives

Both Ex.HEP Maumoon Abdull Qayyoom & present HEP Mohamed Nasheed start’s day 1, together at same office.

Zeitgeist in Maldives

The word zeitgeist describes the intellectual, cultural, ethical and political climate, ambience and morals of an era (similar to the English word "mainstream") or also a trend.

DEFINITION: Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) - sometimes referred,

HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL POLITICS: Don’t try at home.

Disaster recovery is becoming an increasingly important aspect of enterprise computing. As devices, systems, and networks become ever more complex, there are simply more things that can go wrong. As a consequence, recovery plans have also become more complex.

According to Jon William Toigo (the author of Disaster Recovery Planning). For example, fifteen or twenty years ago if there was a threat to systems from a fire, a disaster recovery plan might consist of powering down the mainframe and other computers before the sprinkler system came on, disassembling components, and subsequently drying circuit boards in the parking lot with a hair dryer.

Current enterprise systems tend to be too large and complicated for such simple and hands-on approaches, however, and interruption of service or loss of data can have serious financial impact, whether directly or through loss of customer confidence.

Appropriate plans vary from one enterprise to another, depending on variables such as the type of business.

The processes involved, and the level of security needed. Disaster recovery planning may be developed within an organization or purchased as a software application or a service. It is not unusual for an enterprise to spend 25% of its information technology budget on disaster recovery.

Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party

Leader Maumoon Abdul Gayoom Founded June 2, 2005 Headquarters Malé, Maldives Ideology Conservatism,Liberal conservatism Website www.drp.org.mv

Maldives attained full independence on July 26, 1965 (27 Rabeeul Awwal 1385). The agreement was signed by the then Prime Minister, His Excellency Ibrahim Nasir and the British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka His Excellency Sir Michael Walker.

As Ibrahim Nasir's second term was coming to an end, he wanted someone else running for the presidency. In June 1978, the Citizen's Majlis was called upon to nominate a presidential candidate. 45 voted for Nasir, while the remaining 3 voted for Gayoom. There was another ballot on 16 June, in which four people participated. 27 voted for Gayoom, enough for him to be put forward as a candidate.

Five months later, Maumoon Abdull Qayyoom was elected with 92.96% of the votes as the new President of the Maldives.

Ex-president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom who protected MALDIVES & won 3rd Nov 1988 TERROR BATTLE during his terms of office.

Maumoon Abdul Gayoom ((born December 29, 1937) was President of the Maldives from 1978 to 2008; currently, he is the leader of the opposition, heading the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party. After serving as Minister of Transport, he was elected as President by the Majlis and succeeded Ibrahim Nasir on November 11, 1978. He eventually became the longest-ruling head of government in Asia. After 30 years in office, he was defeated in the October 2008 presidential election and was succeeded by Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldivian Democratic Party on November 11, 200.

Maldives' first democratically elected President Mohamed Nasheed (C) signs the oath.

Anni (Mohamed Nasheed) was made an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience in 1991 when he was being held in prison for writing for the popular political magazine known as "Sangu". On April 8, 1992 he was sentenced to three years in prison for "withholding information". He was released in June 1993 and was re-arrested in 1994 and 1995. In 1996 he was sentenced to two years imprisonment for an article he had written.

In 2000, he was elected as a member of the parliament representing the people of Malé. Six months later, in 2001 he was tried and sentenced to two and half years banishment for the theft of unspecified "government property" from H. Velaanaage - the former residence of former president Ibrahim Nasir. Supporters of Nasheed believe that it was a fabricated charge against him motivated by political desires.

In November 2003, Nasheed left the Maldives and joined Mohamed Latheef to help establish the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), in exile, in Sri Lanka and the UK. He was recognized as a political refugee by the British government in 2004. After about 18 months in self-proclaimed exile, Nasheed returned to Malé on April 30, 2005.

After returning to the Maldives he began promoting the MDP before it was officially recognized by the Government. With the decision to allow political parties in the Maldives, on June 2, 2005 and the official recognition of the MDP's existence, Nasheed accelerated his support campaigns for the party. He made several trips to the Atolls, and neighbouring countries on behalf of the party.

On August 12, 2005, Nasheed was arrested again when he was sitting in the center of the Republican Square, with supporters of MDP, to mark the second anniversary of the Black Friday. His arrest provoked civil unrest in Malé and some other Atolls. After his arrest, acting Government Spokesman Mohamed Hussain Shareef told reporters that Nasheed had been detained for "his own safety." However, on August 22, 2005, the state announced that Nasheed was to be charged with terrorism under the Terrorism Act.

Nasheed stood as the MDP Itthihaad's candidate together with Mohammed Waheed Hassan as the Vice Presidential Candidate in the October 2008 presidential election; this was the first time the country had held a multiparty presidential election by popular vote. In the first round, Nasheed and Dr. Waheed placed second with 44,293 votes (24.91%), placing second behind President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom of the governing Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), who received 71,731 votes (40.34%). In the second round, Nasheed and Dr. Waheed were backed by the unsuccessful first round candidates and won 54.25% of the vote against 45.75% for Gayoom.

Ilyas Ibrahim

In 1993 when Ilyas Ibrahim became Gayoom's only principal rival for the presidency election, he was subsequently tried in absentia for violation of the constitution, found guilty of treason and sentenced to more than 15 years banishment.

Dhon Didi, the daughter of Hakeem Didi, has admitted she did fanditha on behalf of Ilyas Ibrahim and his bid for the presidency.

At the request of the Minister for the President's Office, Ilyas Ibrahim was investigated over claims that he made fanditha to take over the presidency. Dhon Didi admitted to police during the investigation that she did the fanditha.

The majority of Maldivians are not clear who will be next president after Maumoon Abdull Qayyoom. Some people describe Qayyoom will hand over pore to Iliyas & rest says Yameen.

Qassan Maumoon (Son of ex-president Qayyoom)

The Qayyoom direction was not clear how he will end up his presidency. Now even ROAD CATS also knew that his choice is his son Qassaan Maumoon. Inside DRP there is THREE POLITICAL Departments of thoughts or entirely deferent school of thoughts.

1-Qassan & his supporters

2-Thasmeen & his supporter

3-Yameen & his party PA supporters

The late KAAMINEEGE ABDULL QAYYOOM SEEDHI was a respectable HOLLY FIGURE in the Maldivian society during his life time. According to historian & a close family member of SEEDHIBE late ABDULL HAKEEM HUSSAIN MANIK said to me & I quote’ He love’s wear clean dress, all ways he looks very fresh when ever I saw him.

The late ALI FAHMI (Maldivian well known Arababic calligrapher THBAH ALIFULHU) explained me about SEEDHIBE both of them were very close friends & respect each other. He explained me his son Maumoon Abdull Qayyom is very obedient & intelligent boy who knew respect to elder people & he loves religion in a very small age they knew one fine day he will be one of the most respectable AALIM in the Maldives. In local language he express (E SORAKI VARAH MOLHU MAATH KUJJEH).

Myself I believe if he completes’ only three terms in office this will make him to get 100% of MALDIVIANS respect for ever & he might be more powerful than the government in terms of respect & love from the citizen of Maldives.

After 30 years , as a head of state he faced very complex & delicate situation but reality is Qayyoom capitalized 71,731 Maldivians hearts & mind with love & respect numerically it is (40.34%).

After late IBRAHIM NASIR ex-President Maumoon Abdull Qayyoom & President Mohamed Nasheed I believe both of them as MOST POWERFULL POLITICAL BRAIN in the Maldivian modern history both of them are very mature in there POLITICALLY MOTIVATED behavior & languages. Most of the people are not fully aware of that. .Qayyom supports hate ANNI & they say he is criticizing Qayyoom & his government. President Maumoon Abdull Qayyoom is fully aware & he knew very well that ANNI is competing him as a presidential candidate & his direction is to be a next president of Maldives by the name of DEMOCRACY. This is something even ANNI close friend were not fully aware.

The man with a “REGLIGOUS UNIFOR” has won 99% of Maldivians hearts & mind with respect during 1978 KNEW VERY WELL the man who appeared with DEMOCRACY UNIFORM can do the same thing in a deferent way.

Qayyoom tried his very best to CUSTOMISE this UNIFORM in so many ways. POLITICALLY STABON ANNI misbehaves politically to overcome QAYYOOM attempts as a challenge.

Presently majority of ANNI supporters suspect there might be common understanding or a POLITICAL DEAL between ANNI & QAYYOOM to neutralize the situation as a virtual MOU (memorandum of understanding) between both of them which was clearly unknown to any other Maldivian.

Locally it was mode of ( HITH THIRIKURUN ) internationally name of the GAME was again DEMOCRACY.

ANNI supporter expectation to investigate following:

Economic issues:

1-Investigate MNSL financial loss.

2-Investigate FBID Watergate issue.

3-Air Maldives bankruptcy

4-Misuse of foreign Aid & Government fund

Social Issues

1-Investigate 3rd Nov 1988

2-Humanrights violation by POLICE COURT & Jails

3-Death of Hussain Solah

4-Acess to weapons before oath

5-Resort BID & Male’ land related final word by President Office.

Some moderate ANNI supporters say’s HEP Mohamed Nasheed was not in POLITICAL MOOD to investigate & convict Qayyoom.

The presidential RIAASEE COMITEE (president’s special committee) to investigate past 30 years of corruption & misuse of state funds. Some have deferent school of thoughts about this committee by saying RIAASEE COMITEE might have double standards if QAYYOOM name appears on the drawing table.

ANNI supporters are very concern about this subject some old supporter & historian says ANNI may give QAYYOOM KAL DHO BAJEY AAO ticket in this RIAASEE COMITEE.

If this happens people will knew DRP is a really Disaster recovery Plan & the one & only SAFE EXIT ROOT for Qayyoom with a double digit gain & WIN WIN situation for QAYYOOM & QASSAAN with HEP. Mohmed Nasheed
